Dear Herpa-Fan,
the BMW 3 series has existed as a Herpa model since the very beginning. Since the start of production of our car models 42 years ago, the sleek mid-size car from Munich has been part of the Herpa program. Now, the seventh-generation sedan of the most successful BMW series is also being released in the 1/87 scale.
The new type “Ziegler Z-Cab” is a highlight for fire brigade fans. The fire engine consists of three modules. The first module is the driver’s cab with side spoilers, the second module is the group cab, and the third one is the new equipment body. Especially military and technology freaks will be delighted about the new model of the armored vehicle-launched Leguan. The bridge system, which is about four meters wide and 26 meters long, is deployed by the German army on a Leopard carrier system. In the 1/87 scale, the model is equipped with numerous moveable parts.
The new Wings releases reflect the numerous anniversaries in the world of aviation:
In the Wings segment, Herpa presents the Beluga XL, a new type. The original of the giant transporter based on the A330 has been supplementing the Beluga fleet since the beginning of 2020, which previously consisted of five A300-600 ST aircraft, and has been transporting aircraft components between the various Airbus production sites for 25 years. The model of the new Beluga XL can be displayed with an open and closed nose gate by means of an exchangeable component.
Some airlines can currently celebrate their hundredth birthday. Qantas from Australia, founded in 1920, is one of the oldest airlines in the world. For this round anniversary, Herpa is releasing a small series of models from different eras of the airline in both the 1/500 and 1/200 scales this year. The first one is a Boeing 707-300 in the 1/500 scale with the so-called “V-Jet paint scheme”, which Qantas introduced in 1961 when it launched its very first Boeing 707.
