Trade fair models Dortmund 2020 | Dear Herpa-Fan,
Dortmund: among model building enthusiasts this is not just another city in Westphalia. No, for model builders, Dortmund stands for the “Intermodellbau”, Europe's largest model building fair of its kind.
Every year in April, this top event with many idealistic and professional exhibitors lures many people to Dortmund. Many of the latest releases from the previous Toy Fair are presented there to a wide public.
And there are also very special models: the trade fair models.
Everything had been prepared for this year, too. Trade fair models had been selected, exhibition stands and hotel rooms had been booked, and the equipment for the trade fair had been prepared – the Intermodellbau 2020 could have come.
But things turned out differently. Covid19 keeps the world in suspense, and many things that had previously been quite clear, quite normal and logical, are now no longer so. What now? We decided not to wait any longer, but to act.
We are going to get you the trade fair feeling from Dortmund straight to your home. Herpa now offers you, dear model collectors and Dortmund fans, all trade fair models online.
We will start with the first model on Wednesday, April 22. The others will follow over the next few days.

In Europe, we will have to live together at a distance for some time to come, wearing face masks whenever possible when leaving our homes.
This is why the company BRANOfilter from Dietenhofen reacted immediately. Managing director Sebastian Melz: “The demand for protective face and hygiene masks has exploded. From the very beginning, the idea was that we wanted to help people, not to profit from the crisis. Our aim is to provide good protection for the people in the region as inexpensively as possible. Made in Germany.”
At Herpa, we recently relaunched our online shop, allowing us to sell the masks at low prices throughout Europe. Just like BRANOfilter, we are not acting to profit from the crisis.
