Dear Herpa-Fan,

as is the case with many companies having suppliers in the Far East, Herpa is not immune to the coronavirus. Due to the limited production of the aircraft models in China, the new Wings releases cannot be planned to the usual extent at present. Therefore, this time, we will present the new Cars & Trucks releases along with the Herpa Wings models in a joint brochure.

The strictly limited special edition of the new MAN TGX GX will already be available from May as a solo tractor, and the camouflaged trucks, the so-called “Erlkönige”, as transporters. The car classics Jaguar XJ6 and Ford Capri will be re-released, the latter now with a vinyl roof. Herpa now also presents all seven generations of the 3-series BMW in a combined set. Also new in the Collection is the model of the gas-powered Iveco Stralis NP with new tanks.

In the Wings segment, the focus is on the Airbus A350 with the new design of SAS, which the Scandinavian tri-national airline presented for the first time last September when it introduced this aircraft type to its fleet. The model is being released simultaneously in both the 1/500 and 1/200 scales. In the small series of models from different Qantas eras, the Boeing 707 in the classic “V Jet” livery (item n° 534154) is followed by a model of the Australian airline's first Boeing 767 in the 1980s livery introduced shortly before the delivery of the twinjet. Herpa also honors the fiftieth anniversary of the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 with a series. After the announcement of Alitalia’s trijet (item n° 534277), a model of Northwest Orient Airlines, which was one of the largest operators of this type, with more than forty DC-10s at times, is now following.
