Herpa presents its first revellers wagon! | Dear Herpa-Fan,
At 11.11 am, the fifth season has once again started in the carnival strongholds. Until Ash Wednesday on February 10, 2016, people once again laugh, sway and step into the carnival soapbox. For the first time in history, Herpa also joins the colorful activities and presents its first carnival wagon.
For the World Championship 2014 the "Siegertruck" model was released in the 1/87 scale - celebrating the victory along with the soccer players at the fan mile. Due to the current reports on the scandal concerning the "summer fairy tale" in Germany, Herpa decided on a soccer motto truck. "Carnival is always a razor-sharp satire on current political and social events so it was obvious for Herpa to design a corresponding motto truck", so Herpa spokesman Daniel Stiegler. The Herpa carnival wagon collects donations to "purchase" the next World Championship in Germany in 2026. | |
As with the big carnival trucks, the 1/87 (H0) scale rigid tractor was kept rather plain but the trailer was elaborately printed. Like the World Championship truck, the vehicle features a platform for the revellers to stand during the parade. The cooler for Kölsch and Alt beer was also mounted. The model costs 49.50 Euros and is strictly limited - order your carnival truck from your local retailer right away!

| Volvo FH Gl. lowliner semitrailer "Galliker" (CH)
Already in 1918, Galliker carried out first transport orders with horse-drawn vehicles. After WWII, with the purchase of the first car transporter in 1965, the foundation of today?s Galliker Car Logistics was laid. In the following years, food logistics was parallel developed as another important company pillar. Today, the vehicles of the family-owned company are in operation all over Europe every day from 18 locations. Part of the fleet is inter alia this lowliner semitrailer with current Volvo rigid tractor. A partial edition of this Swiss special model is now also available from the Herpa brands shop.

| | The model railway day 2015 |  | December 2, 2015, is all about model railways. On that day and the following weekend, the Bund der Deutschen Eisenbahnerfreunde (BDEF) has initiated the model railway day to promote the little fascinating worlds. The Herpa Museum participates in this event day and opens the special exhibition rooms for model railroaders who always wanted to display their model railways or dioramas - which are usually in the basement or attic - in a museum.
That's how it's done:
Send photos and the dimensions of your arrangement together with a small presentation to dennis.daenschel@herpa.de (information by phone at +49-9824-951-278). Until November 20, 2015, a jury together with the Herpa model railways experts and DER MASS:STAB editor in chief Oliver Kaschel will pick the participants presenting at the Herpa Museum from December 2, 2015. Not only associations but also small model railroader groups or model railroaders or model building families who want to present their arrangements in public are eligible to participate.
The model railway arrangements will be displayed from December 2, 2015 until January 5, 2016 at the latest in the Herpa Museum in Dietenhofen and we would like to invite all interested visitors and fans. |
| | | The Herpa Christmas market | .jpg) | Just a few weeks to go before the beginning of the Advent season and many Christmas surprises at the Herpa Christmas market.
As in 2014, the Herpa Christmas market will now be open a full three weeks. Every day from November 28 to December 23, 2015, the little Christmas village in the Museum Shop will feature new rarities, special models and specialties for collectors, tinkerers and rebuilders.
Take advantage of one of the four Advent holidays for a trip to the new Herpa Museum in Dietenhofen along with your friends and the entire family.
