the July / August new releases prove just how topical Herpa models are. In February, Mercedes-Benz introduced its new G-class, and the latest model of the edgy luxury off-roader has already been realized true-to-detail in the 1/87 scale. Herpa produced its first models of the first 1979 Mercedes-Benz G-class all of 30 years ago. The latest generation models are made with all-new molds and – besides the long wheelbase - feature interesting details including a chrome spare wheel cover at the rear and embossed grille struts in polar white and obsidian black metallic.
Right after the presentation of the original at the Geneva International Motor Show in March, Herpa presented the new Audi A6 C8 in the 1/87 scale as a new type. A new chassis and rims make the model of the sporty sedan in brilliant black and carat-beige metallic especially elegant. Another new type is the model of the new Sprinter, independently developed by Mercedes-Benz. Herpa is almost ahead of the curve with the Ziegler Z8 XXL airfield fire engine of the still not inaugurated Berlin-Brandenburg airport.
The fire engines, which differ from the Frankfurt-version in their all-new superstructure, are however already ready to go. And last but not least, we’d like to mention the Scania CS HD refrigerated box trailer and the refrigerated Eurocombi box trailer, which are released with new chassis and underfloor cooler as dolly and refrigerated trailer respectively.
Lufthansa’s new livery
In February, Lufthansa premiered its new livery. It was ceremonially presented on an Airbus A321 and a Boeing 747-8, as well as on a Herpa model in the 1/400 scale. In a set containing models bearing four Lufthansa livery variants, the Boeing 747-8 with the registration D-ABYA Brandenburg is now also released for retail in the 1/500 scale, and as an individual model in the 1/200 scale. Meanwhile, more new colors are added to the Collection with 1/500 scale models of Air France subsidiary Joon, the Italian charter flight company Blue Panorama, the McDonnell Douglas of PAWA Dominicana, as well as an A350-900 from China’s Sichuan Airlines. 1/400 scale models of the A320 of the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings are even released in two color variants, namely the low-cost airline’s standard livery plus the livery of the holiday brand Eurowings Holidays – a joint-venture of Eurowings and the tour operator and E-commerce company Tropo. Meanwhile in the 1/200 scale, a catering truck for the A380 enhances the diorama accessories. The superstructure of the three-axle vehicle is adjustable in height and its loading ramp in length.

Vintage car friends will be up for a surprise in Dietenhofen. From April 27 to April 28, 2018, the vintage car rallye "Metz Rallye Classic" takes place in Franconia. About 100 drivers with up to 70-year-old cars will be on their way through Central Franconia including a stopover in Dietenhofen.
On April 28, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Herpa Miniature Museum will be a stopover point where all visitors can marvel at and take photos of the historic vehicles and where the drivers can be cheered for.
Next to the big cars on the road, various miniature landscapes can be discovered on over 400 square meters in the museum - a perfect trip for the entire family.
