Herpa ist in Feierlaune, denn es feiert seinen 75. Geburtstag. Am 9. März 1949 wird das Unternehmen gegründet, seit 1978 gibt es hochwertige Pkw-Modelle, 1980 kommen die Lkw hinzu und 1988 entstehen erste Flugzeugm odelle. Grund genug, auf der Spielwarenmesse für das Jubiläumsjahr wieder hochwertige Modelle in verschiedenen Maßstäben zu präsentieren.
Gefragte Klassiker
Youngtimer sind gefragte Sammlermodelle, und so setzt Herpa gleich zwei Klassiker neu um. Zum einen den VW Käfer 1303 mit Blinker auf dem Kotflügel und Elefantenfüßen am Heck sowie den Mercedes 300 SL Flügeltürer von 1955.
Mit Beginn der Spielwarenmesse fährt im Original bei Heide-Logistik ein Kühlkoffersattelzug, der für 75 Jahre Herpa wirbt – parallel dazu gibt es auch das Modell. Und von der Schweizer Spedition Emil Egger erscheint mal wieder ein Liebherr Mobilkran LTM 1300-6.2. Interessante Formneuheit beim Container-Sattelzug HH Bode - Tailwind ist die breite Sonnenblende nach skandinavischem Vorbild. Tailwind ist eine Lidl-Tochter und holt Non-Food-Ware nach Deutschland.
Weiterer Elektrischer…
Mit seinem auffallenden Design geht Volkswagen mit dem neuen VW ID BUZZ neue Antriebswege als reines Elektrofahrzeug. Bei Herpa ist dieser Transporter bereits kurz vor der Fertigstellung, erste Messemuster gibt es auf der Spielwarenmesse zu sehen. Der ID BUZZ wird in der Unilackierung Candy Weiß, in einer Metallic-Lackierung und auch als schablonenlackierte Bicolor-Variante ab Spätsommer in den Fachhandel kommen.
Lkw-Formneuheiten erscheinen unter anderem bei den Baufahrzeugen. Den Meiller-Absetzkipper gibt es in zwei Varianten. Als AK 14 zweiachsig sowie als AK 16 dreiachsig. Beide Fahrzeuge sind mit unterschiedlich großen Mulden beladen. Angekündigt sind die Modelle noch für die erste Jahreshälfte. Auch der Teleskoplader T60-9S von Liebherr ist eine Neukonstruktion. Er ist lenkbar und der Ausleger teleskopierbar. Grundsätzlich werden dem Modell zwei Anbaugeräte beigelegt - eine Gabel sowie eine Schaufel.
Eine weitere Formneuheit gibt es bei den Einsatzfahrzeugen mit dem MAN TGM als Mehrzweckgerätewagen. Dafür werden eine komplett neue Kabine, ein neues Allradfahrgestell sowie neue Aufbauten entwickelt. Vorgestellt wird das Fahrzeug in der Variante vom THW, in dieser Bauform ist es aber auch bei Feuerwehren im Einsatz. Die ersten Modelle sollen noch in der ersten Jahreshälfte ausgeliefert werden, eine weitere Variante ohne den vorderen Gerätekasten wird es zum Jahresende geben.
Modellbau Schwarz
Auch in Zusammenarbeit mit Modellbau Schwarz wird es neue Modelle geben. Zum Jahresende erscheint die kurze Kabine des Scania Vabis LB 76 mit neuer Frontstoßstange, mit Zusatzscheinwerfern und einem neuen Dachschild. Die ersten Mercedes-Benz LP 2032 sind in der Produktion nahezu fertiggestellt und werden voraussichtlich noch im ersten Quartal zur Auslieferung kommen.
Großfracht und Adleroptik bei Wings-Modellen
Der Dreamlifter von Boing gilt als das Gegenstück zur BelugaXL des europäischen Herstellers Airbus. Als Formneuheit bring Herpa zur Spielwarenmesse das Modell in 1:500 heraus. Natürlich kann das Modell wahlweise mit zur Seite geschwenktem Heck oder geschlossen präsentiert werden.
Fliegende Löwen gab es schon bei Embraer – als Sonderlackierung für Flugzeuge. Nun folgt mit dem neuen Tech Eagle ein Greifvogel. Mit der auffallenden Lackierung und einem recht aggressiv Marketing will der brasilianische Hersteller Fluggesellschaften auf der ganzen Welt von der E2-Serie überzeugen. Der Tech Eagle verspricht immense Leistungsverbesserungen, deshalb trägt er den Namen Profit-Jäger. Den neuen Tech Eagle präsentiert Herpa zur Spielwarenmesse zunächst im Maßstab 1:200.
Erstmals produziert Herpa ein Metallmodell der in Frankreich entwickelten Alouette III. Von dem zuverlässigen und markanten Hubschrauber wurden über 2.000 Exemplare gebaut und weltweit sind heute noch einige im Einsatz. Das Modell im Maßstab 1:72 erscheint zunächst in den Bemalungsvarianten des französischen Zivilschutzes und des österreichischen Bundesheeres.
Farbenfrohe Memorials und weitere Giganten erscheinen 2024
Sie ist wohl die farbenfroheste Fluggesellschaft der Welt gewesen. Braniff aus Texas (USA) revolutioniert 1967 die kommerzielle Luftfahrt mit radikalem Design - 15 verschiedene Farben sorgen für Aufmerksamkeit. Herpa startet 2024 eine Serie der farbenfrohen Braniff-Flugzeugmodelle in 1:500 und 1:200. Den Anfang machen zwei Boeing 707 in Beige und Limettengrün als Snapfit-Modelle.
Ein nach wie vor sehr beliebtes Modell ist die am 27. Februar 2022 zerstörte Antonov 225. Das größte Flugzeug der Welt trägt auch den Spitznamen Mriya (Traum) und vereint auf sich sage und schreibe 240 Weltrekorde, etwa mit der höchsten Zuladung von 253 Tonnen. Mit Herpa bleibt dieser Gigant zumindest als Modell erhalten, und zwar als hochwertiges Snapfit-Modell im Maßstab 1:250. Auch das Modell hat eine beachtliche Spannweite von fast 36 cm.
Ebenfalls ein Gigant ist der Mil Mi-26, der größte Hubschrauber der Welt. Noch in Sowjet-Zeiten 1977 entwickelt, wird er immer noch produziert und ist weltweit im Einsatz. Mit seiner Traglast von 20 Tonnen ist er quasi alternativlos. Es ist der größte in Serie produzierte Hubschrauber. Dieses Metallmodell im Maßstab 1:200 kann ebenfalls mit geöffnetem oder geschlossenem Frachttor am Heck dargestellt werden.
Gigantisch ist auch die 777-9, das neue Flaggschiff von Boing. Wenn es ab 2025 ausgeliefert wird, ist es das längste Passagierflugzeug der Welt, sogar länger als die 747-8. Die beachtliche Spannweite des Originals zeigt sich auch im Maßstab 1:200, hier sind es fast 36 cm. Da die Tragflächen beim Original für viele Flughäfen zu groß sind, kann man die Enden hochklappen. Das wird auch im Modell möglich sein.

Eines der kleinsten Turboprop-Flugzeug im Linienverkehr wird mit der Beechcraft 1900D umgesetzt. Das Metallmodell im Maßstab 1:200 wird im Design mehrerer Fluggesellschaften erscheinen, die erste Auslieferung wird eine Variante von 1991 sein. Das Flugzeug war vor allem im Zubringerdienst für zahlreiche Fluggesellschaften unterwegs, mit Schwerpunkt in Nordamerika und Europa.
Weitere Formneuheiten, auch im Maßstab 1:500, sind für 2024 geplant. So unter anderem die Boeing 757-300 mit dem verlängerten Rumpf.

2024 feiert Herpa sein 75-jähriges Firmenjubiläum. Am 9. März 1949 wird die Firma Wilhelm Hergenröther – Fabrikation Nürnberger Qualitätsspielwaren gegründet. 1964 übernimmt Fritz Wagener Herpa und produziert neben Modelleisenbahnzubehör zunächst Zubehör für elektrische Autorennbahnen. 1978 präsentierte Herpa erstmals Pkw-Modelle im Maßstab 1:87, 1988 werden die ersten Flugzeugmodelle produziert.

Celebrating 75 years at the Toy Fair
Herpa is in party mode for its 75th birthday. The company was founded on 9 March 1949, our high-quality car models being launched in 1978, our trucks added in 1980, and our first miniature aircraft produced in 1988. Reason enough to present high-quality models in various scales at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, as we always have, but with a definite nod to our anniversary.
Sought-after classics
Classic automobiles are undeniably popular collector models, so Herpa is recreating two more classics. Firstly, the VW Beetle 1303 with indicators on the mudguards and elephant feet at the rear, and the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing from 1955.
At the start of the Toy Fair, a refrigerated lorry will be on the road at Heide-Logistik advertising 75 years of Herpa - the model being available for purchase at the same time. And a Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane from the Swiss haulage company Emil Egger is once again making an appearance. The wide sun visor based on the Scandinavian model is an interesting new design feature on the HH Bode - Tailwind container semi-trailer truck. Tailwind is a Lidl subsidiary and transports non-food goods to Germany.
Ever more electric…
With its striking design, Volkswagen is breaking new ground as a purely electric vehicle manufacturer with its new VW ID BUZZ. This transporter is already close to completion at Herpa, and the first samples will be on display at the toy fair. The ID BUZZ is set be available from specialist dealers in late summer in the plain Candy White paint finish, in a metallic paint finish, and also in a stencilled bi-colour version.
Moreover, new truck moulds are scheduled to appear in the construction vehicles range. The Meiller skip loader is available in two versions. The AK 14 with two axles and the AK 16 with three axles. The vehicles haul different sized skips. The models have been announced for the first half of the year. Actually, the T60-9S Telehandler from Liebherr is a new design. It is steerable and the boom can be telescoped out. The model comes with two attachments - a fork and a bucket.
The MAN TGM multi-purpose equipment vehicle is another newcomer among emergency vehicles. A completely revised cab, a new all-wheel drive chassis, and an updated superstructures are being developed to this end. The vehicle will be presented in the THW (Emergency Technical Services) version, but it is also used by fire departments in this lay-out. Models are to be delivered in the first half of the year, but a further variant without the front equipment box will become available at the end of the year.
Modellbau Schwarz
There will also be new models produced in collaboration with Modellbau Schwarz. The short cab of the Scania Vabis LB 76 with a new front bumper, additional headlights, and a new roof spoiler will be released at the end of the year. The first Mercedes-Benz LP 2032s have almost completed the production process, and are expected to be delivered before the end the first quarter.
Bulk freight and raptor looks among the Wings models
The Dreamlifter from Boing is comparable to the BelugaXL from the European manufacturer Airbus. Herpa is bringing out the model in the 1:500 scale as a mold novelty at the Toy Fair. Naturally, the model can be displayed with the tail flipped to one side, or latched in place.
There have already been flying lions at Embraer - as a special livery for its airliners. Now a bird of prey is following suite as the new Tech Eagle. With its eye-catching livery and confident marketing, the Brazilian manufacturer is aiming to convince airlines around the world of the qualities of its E2 series. The Tech Eagle promises immense improvements in performance, which is why it bears the name Profit Hunter. Herpa is initially presenting the new Tech Eagle at the Toy Fair in the 1:200 scale.
For the first time, Herpa is producing a metal model of the Alouette III developed in France. Over 2,000 examples of this reliable and striking helicopter were built and some are still in use in various parts of the world today. The 1:72 scale model will initially appear in the colour schemes of the French Civil Defence and the Austrian Armed Forces.
Colourful Memorials and even more giants to appear in 2024
It was probably the most colourful airline in the world. In 1967, Braniff from Texas (USA) revolutionised commercial aviation with a radical new corporate image: 15 different colours certainly attracted attention. This year, Herpa is launching a series of colourful Braniff aircraft models in 1:500 and 1:200, starting with two Boeing 707s in beige and lime green as Snapfit models.
One model that is still very popular is the Antonov 225, which was destroyed on 27 February 2022. The largest aircraft in the world nicknamed Mriya (dream) held no fewer than 240 world records, including the highest payload of 253 tonnes. With Herpa, this giant is at least available as a model, namely as a high-quality Snapfit model in the 1:250 scale. The model has a quite remarkable wingspan of almost 36 cm.
Another giant is the Mil Mi-26, the largest helicopter in the world. Developed in Soviet times in 1977, it is still in production and in use worldwide. With its load capacity of 20 tonnes, it is virtually irreplaceable. It is the world’s largest serial production helicopter. This 1:200 scale metal model can be displayed with the rear cargo door open or closed.
The 777-9, Boing's new flagship, is equally gigantic. When it is delivered from 2025, it will be the longest passenger aircraft in the world, even longer than the 747-8. The impressive wingspan of the original is reflected in the 1:200 scale, almost 36 cm. As the wings of the original are too large for many airports, the wingtips can be folded upwards. This will also be possible in the model.

Meanwhile, the Beechcraft 1900D is one of the smallest turboprop aircraft in regular service. The metal model in the 1:200 scale will appear in the liveries of several airlines, the first delivery to be a variant from 1991. The aircraft was mainly used in feeder service for numerous airlines, especially in North America and Europe.
Further new moulds, also in the 1:500 scale, are planned for 2024. These include the Boeing 757-300 with the extended fuselage.
