Dear Herpa-Fan,
Cars & Trucks
The two single-color ID. Buzz models and the fire department print are now followed by the bi-color version and a police study. In addition, check the ID. Buzz Cargo with simple wheel sets and a new interior. An old Opel model also makes a new appearance: the Opel Kadett E as a GSi convertible - just in time for summer. It features some new prints that were not included in the previous model. Standing out among the emergency vehicles is the EMPL-based logistics equipment vehicle with the corresponding MAN cab. It initially appears in the blue of the local THW association base in Fürth, and in red for the neutral Herpa fire department series. In the construction sector, the Meiller AK12 skip loader from the well-known waste disposal company Veolia, and the three-axle version of the AK 16 in municipal orange will become available. The new Meiller AK12 skip loaders also appear as MiniKits - in white as MAN and in red as Mercedes-Benz.
Wings
The two series celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Boeing 727 and the colorful Braniff International models continue to grow – this time teaming up in one model. The 1:500 scale Boeing 727-200 appears in the Solid New Dark Blue variant from Braniff International in a limited edition. Meanwhile, Condor's “bath towel” planes are a common sight at the airports serving Europe's vacation regions. D-ATCG was one of the first A321s to be repainted in 2022. Especially on cloudy days, its bold red stripes certainly heighten holiday feeling among passengers. The Eurowings Airbus A320 “Salzburger Land” also induces a vacation atmosphere. It promotes the vacation and recreation region as a year-round destination. In addition to 75 years of Herpa, this is the 75th anniversary of the end of the Berlin Airlift. From June 24, 1948 to May 12, 1949, the Soviet Union blocked all access routes to the western sectors of Berlin by water and land. The main players were the Douglas C-54 “Skymaster”, which was usually deployed around the clock. To mark the end of the airlift 75 years ago, this “raisin bomber” appears in the 1:200 scale, the original exhibited at Frankfurt Airport these days.
